Here's a rhyme in Gujarati we use even today:

Mahi mari dai

Patle besi nai

Patlo gayo khasi

Mahi padi hasi!

It is used while bathing, so you add the name of your own child.

The translation doesnt quite have the same effect...but here goes:

Mahi is my good baby

Sits on a patla (wooden stool) and has a bath

The stool slips

Mahi bursts out laughing!

And they do laugh. :-)
